In this project, we had a Dallas, TX customer concerned she could still see into the attic and feared the wildlife would still be able to enter the home. On inspection we agreed that some additional work could be done to help remediate this, but at the same time pointing out that there was some wood rot that should be addressed at the same time; otherwise you are just putting off a complete fix to accomplish the long term goal. I always recommend customers have the tradesperson explain any symptoms seen, provide pictures and videos of the area and any repairs afterwards to help ensure the customer is fully happy. In this case, the repair was about 8 feet in the air and only visible from a ladder. Armed with all of the information and a plan the customer agreed to the additional repairs; which included not just more flashing to prevent wildlife from entering, but included new wood to replace the rotten pieces and flashing to prevent the replacement wood from rotting in the future as well that doubled as an additional barrier to the wildlife as well.
In the end, the customer had piece of mind that they would not need to share their space with a critter in the attic, their house was structurally sound and water could not egress in either.
